When do we use it?

It is used with stones and ceramics.

– How is it done?

The first row is mounted normally, without making any cuts in the slats, when installing the second row we must start with 50% of a slat. When we reach the third row we will use a complete slat, in the fourth row we will start with 50% of the slat, and so on repeating this pattern.

In stone and ceramics, as with wood, each design has several different slats, so when installing it is important to take this into account in order to select different designs for the adjacent slats.

– When do we use it?

This type of installation is carried out with marquetry or tile designs.

– How is it done?

The first row is mounted normally, without making any cuts in the slats, when installing the second row we must start with 33% of the slat, in the herringbone designs must match the figure. When we reach the third row we will start with 66% of a slat and in the fourth row we will start with 100% of the slat.

We repeat this scheme successively.

It is important to take into account what we have mentioned above, to select different designs in the adjoining slats.

Timber in general

In general, we use the piece of plank left over from the first row to continue with the second row, with the only particularity that it should not be less than 30cm. This same idea is repeated throughout the installation.

Finally, just remember that the floor should ideally be oriented in the direction of the light. Although this is a matter of taste, and as the cases can be diverse, it is not possible to make a radical statement, it would be necessary to evaluate each case, although it is certainly a question of aesthetics.
